Integrating with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Summary

This document explains the steps needed to prepare your SAC environment for a dScribe connection.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Log in on your SAC system via a user with administrator rights.

  2. Navigate to System > Administration > App Integration

  3. Under Configured Clients, click ‘Add a New OAuth Client’

  4. Use the following settings for your new client: 

    • Purpose = “Interactive Usage and API Access”

    • Access = “Story Listing”

    • Redirect URI can be left empty

  5. Click ‘Add’. This is an excellent opportunity for a cup of tea, creating the Client might take a few minutes.

  6. The following screen should appear. Make sure to copy these information fields:

    - OAuth Client ID

    - Secret (use the ‘Show Secret’ button)

  7. Still on the same page (System > Administration > App Integration), copy the Token URL:

  8. Copy your SAC tenant URL from the browser bar (everything before the first /)

    Your URL should be of the format: https://tenantname.region.deployment

  9. Using the OAuth Client ID, Secret, Token URL and SAC tenant URL, you can now create a new Connection in dScribe.
