This document explains the steps needed to catalog your Tableau assets in dScribe.
Prerequisites
You need administrator rights in your Tableau system.
Step-by-step guide
Navigate to your Tableau Cloud dashboard:
Save your username and password, you'll need it later. You can find your username in your profile settings:
Note your tenant name and content URL:
When in Tableau, your URL should contain 2 important pieces of information. Copy these somewhere, you will need them later.
Tenant name:
https://{TENANT}.tableau.com/#/site/{content_url}/home
See the orange part in the printscreen below
Content URL:
https://{tenant}.tableau.com/#/site/{CONTENT_URL}/home
See the green part in the printscreen below
Your tenant name is indicated in orange (1s part), your content URL is indicated in green (2nd part)
Using your username, password, tenant and content URL, you can now create and schedule a new Source in dScribe.
Reached the end? Congratulations! You’re a star! ⭐
