Link guides inside a guide

Keep guides short and reusable by linking them inside other guides.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

With guide linking, you can insert another guide directly into your current one. The linked guide will appear as a preview card with its title, application icon, number of steps and creation date.

What does it do?

Linking a guide inside another guide enables you to:

  • Insert a preview card for an existing guide directly in your step description or guide description.

  • Let readers navigate seamlessly between related guides.

  • Ensure the linked guide opens smoothly in the web app or inside the plugin.

Why use this?

  • Keep guides small and focused: instead of writing one long guide, split the process into smaller pieces and connect them.

  • Build decision trees: if your process has multiple paths, you can link to the right guide at each step.

  • Plugin-friendly: in the plugin, clicking a linked guide opens it directly inside the plugin without losing context. No need to use external hyperlinks anymore.

How to link a guide

  1. In the description field (either the guide description or a step description), click the plus button (which is at the left of the input field) and select Guide

  2. Search and select the guide you want to link

  3. A preview card will automatically appear in your description

Note: if the linked guide is not public and you insert it into a public guide, readers will see a message that the guide could not be loaded.
